Learning Language (English) for History

Learning different languages ​​including English is necessary along with mother tongue to know history or to research history. To that end on 07/09/2024, Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra launched an innovative one-year educational certificate course named 'Learning Language (English) for History'. It has been officially inaugurated at the Swarnapradeep stage of Berhampore's Laldighi with music and lamp lighting. The present speakers highlighted the importance and necessity of this course. The historical material in the English language is numerous in the study of modern history. In order to know that history properly and to meet the various needs of life, this course has kept complete English education training in accordance with grammar. Along with that, this is a one-year class on the syllabus developed by researchers on the regional history of Murshidabad district. Where the history of the Murshidabad Zilla will be taught from the prehistoric period to the modern day based on the syllabus. Along with this, scientific method of conservation of heritage architecture, history based tourism of Murshidabad district and many other subjects will be taught in this syllabus. The organization also aims to organize Pali, Sanskrit and Persian language education in the future, considering the elements of history in different languages ​​for the study of history. Everyone from school college students to seniors can enroll in this course. Skilled teachers and lecturers from schools, colleges and universities will be there to train the students on every Saturday evening using modern technology. English class timings are 7pm to 8pm and History class timings are 8pm to 8.30pm.

Ramendrasundar Trivedi's Birthday Celebration

Under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, the 161st birth anniversary of Acharya Ramendrasundar Trivedi is celebrated at Kandi on 5th Bhadra 1431 (according to Bengali calender) i.e 22nd August 2024. Acharya Ramendrasundar's bust located in front of Ramendrasundar Trivedi Auditorium at Kandy Town has been first garlanded and flowers offered. The present speakers discussed various aspects of Ramendrasundar Trivedi's life and work. Since 2017, Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra has been celebrating Acharya Ramendrasundar Trivedi's birthday consistently every year. It is noted that this bust located in front of Acharya Ramendrasundar Trivedi Auditorium at Kandi Town was built and installed on October 1, 2020 under the initiative of Murshidabad District Administration and in collaboration with Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra.

Pradyot Kumar Roychowdhury's Birthday Celebration

Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra and Malihati Durgadas Saralabala Chhatra Samaj Rural Library jointly has organized the 112-th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Pradyot Kumar Roychowdhury at the remote Malihati village under the Salar police Station area, his birth place on 4th July. He was imprisoned in Andaman Cellular Jail. The bust that was installed in front of the local library has been first garlanded. This is the third consecutive year of celebrating his official birthday with the initiative these organizations. It is to be noted that on December 17, 2021, on the occasion of the 75-th anniversary of India's independence, the bust of this eminent freedom fighter was installed at Malihati with the initiative and financial support of "Murshidabad Zilla Itihaso Sanskriti Charcha Kendra". The statue was unveiled by the then Murshidabad District Superintendent of Police K. Shabri Rajkumar. Although the number of freedom fighters in Murshidabad district is large, the number of revolutionaries released from the cellular jail in Andaman is only four or five. Pradyot Kumar Roy Chowdhury is one of them. At the end of the programme, the National Anthem is played.

Dr. Rezaul Karim's Birthday Celebration

Like every year, this year also Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra is celebrated the embodiment of harmony, Indian Nationalist, renowned scholar and eminent educationist Dr. Rezaul Karim's 123-rd birthday in front of his bust at Berhampur on 1st July, Monday. The celebration of Rezaul Karim's birthday has entered the eighth consecutive year under the initiative of this organization. Artists and professors from different parts of the district firstly offered wreaths to Karim's bust. Then his life and work were discussed. Professor Karim's beloved two students who are present at the event and they have narrated some personal memories. The programme concluded with the National Anthem. It is also be noted that like every year, this year also before the birthday celebration, Rezaul Karim's bust is being cleaned by the organization.

Manindra Chandra Nandi's Birthday Celebration

Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra has celebrated the 165-th birth anniversary of Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi, the scholar and demon of Cossimbazar, on the 28th Jaistha as per Bengali calendar. This marks the eighth consecutive year of celebrating this birthday in an official manner under the initiative of our organization. On this day, the members present there first is offered garlands and flowers to the bust of Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi located in front of Berhampur Maharani Kashiswari Girls' High School. Some of the presentee briefly have discussed various aspects of Manindra Chandra Nandi's life and activities. It is to be noted that before the birthday celebration, our organization Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, like every year, has cleaned the surroundings of this bust and statue, which are lying in the garbage throughout the year. History Awareness Workshop and Museum Visit Programme

Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra organize a one-day history awareness workshop and visit to Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum on 7th June, Friday. A discussion seminar has been held on this topic in Rabindra-Nazarul Auditorium at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum campus at Berhampur Town. About 300 students of 'Berhampur Maharani Kashiswari Girls' High School' participate in the programme. First, the students are observed Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum and Rambrahma Sanyal Biodiversity Museum in detail. After that, they participate in a question-and-answer session of about two hours on this topic in the Auditorium Hall. By asking various questions to the researchers present on the stage, they satiate their curiosity. Many students have said frankly that they are very excited to see history so closely. On the main stage of this seminar, about a hundred school-girls respond with their own experiences. In such a short period of time, the experience of so many students on the main stage of the programme is practically unprecedented. Among them, about 85 students have said, they never liked history, they thought it was a very boring subject, just memorizing the year and date on the pages of the book. They have come here and like this history for the first time. As the organizing organization of this programme, we believe that this manifestation of the interest of history for the first time in the minds of the younger generation is the success of this initiative. Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's Death Anniversary Celebration

May 23 marks the 95th death anniversary of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, discoverer of Mohenjadaro, world famous archaeologist and native of Berhampore and Murshidabad district. This has been observed by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. The programme is held at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum Campus at Berhampur. The commemoration ceremony has been preceded by garlanding and floral tributes to the bust of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay. Various aspects of his life and work is discussed. It should be noted that on October 1, 2020, a museum named after Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay was established at Berhampur for the memory of Bhoomiputra (son of the soil) Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay of Murshidabad district along with his bust. Then since 2022, his birth and death anniversary are being celebrated continuously there, under the initiative of our organization. At the end of the programme, the National Anthem has been played.

Celebration of International Museum Day

International Museum Day has been celebrated on 18-th May at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum Campus, Berhampore, under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Ramaprasad Bhaskar, a prominent music collector of the district and Dr. Rajarshi Chakraborty, professor of the history department of Burdwan University, discussed the importance and necessity of the museum on this day. Many heritage enthusiasts is present at the event. It should be noted that on October 1, 2020 Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum was inaugarated at Berhampore by the joint initiative of Murshidabad District Administration and Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Since then, this museum, controlled by the district administration, has been officially supervised by our very organization. It is the only museum in Bengal named after Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, the eminent archaeologist as well as Bhoomiputra (son of the soil) of Murshidabad district. Saratchandra Pandit Dadathakur's Birthday Celebration

The 144-th birth anniversary and 56-th death anniversary of Saratchandra Pandit Dadathakur has been celebrated on 27-th April by the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. On this day, garlands was paid to the bust of Dadathakur in front of the auditorium built in the name of Saratchandra Pandit (Dadathakur) at Raghunathganj of Murshidabad district. The speakers present there discussed the life and work of Dadathakur. It should be noted that this bust was established on 1st October 2020 under the joint initiative of Murshidabad District Administration and Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Since 2022, our organization has been organizing official birthday celebration in front of this bust every year. The National Anthem was performed at the end of the ceremony.

Birthday Celebration of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay

On 12th April, the 140-th birth anniversary of the discoverer of Mohenjadaro, the native of Murshidabad district and world renowned archaeologist Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay has been celebrated. This event is organized in front of his bust at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum premises at Berhampore under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. It is to be noted that he died in 1930 at the age of 45. 85 years have been passed since his death. But any official birthday celebration was never done anywhere. In 2016, the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra first started celebrating Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's official birthday in his birth-town Berhampur. From then on we celebrate this renowned archaeologist's birthday continuously. On October 1, 2020, the only museum in Bengal named after Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay was inaugurated at Berhampore Town. Along with that, a bust of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay was unveiled in Murshidabad district on the same day. Since then Rakhaldas's commemoration has been held here every year, under the initiative of our organisation. On this day, the bust of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay has been first garlanded and flowers is offered. Various aspects of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's life and work were discussed. At the end of the programme, the National Anthem has been played.

Celebration of Raja Krishnath's Birthday

On 12/03/24, the official birthday of Raja Krishnath of Cossimbazar Bara Rajbari has been celebrated by the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. On the 203rd birthday of Raja Krishnath, held in front of the Cossimbazar Bara Rajbari or Sreepur Palace, everyone present on the day first offered garlands and flowers to the picture of Raja Krishnath. Then some speakers discussed the life and work of King Krishnath. It should be noted that the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra has been celebrating Krishnath's birthday in front of the Cossimbazar Rajbari since 2021. Historical Walk before Murshidabad History Festival- 2024

Historical Walk is organized at Berhampur Town on the occasion of 8th 'Murshidabad History Festival-2024' to increase history awareness among the general people. On 28/01/24, this walk has been organized under the slogan 'Walk for History' under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. The procession started at eight o'clock in the morning from the front of Rabindra Sadan at Berhampur Town and ended at the same spot after marching around the Town. Many students, youth, writers and heritage enthusiasts participated in this programme. The historic walk started in 2017 and this innovative initiative entered in its eighth consecutive year.

History workshop and museum visit programme under the organization's initiative

On 22/01/24, a museum visit programme and history workshop was held with a total of 10 girls' high school students of Murshidabad district at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum campus at Berhampur. This programme has been taken under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. At first various historical materials from ancient to modern times preserved at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum has been seen by the visiting students. After that, a workshop on history was held in the auditorium of the museum campus where the students directly participated in the question and answer phase. A total of around 300 students including many teachers from ten schools participated in this programme this day.

One Day Heritage Tour including Sonarundi Banwaribad Rajbari

On 31/12/23 at the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, Murshidabad Heritage & Academic Tour organized a one-day heritage tour. This is the third tour of this year. Along with about 50 tourists from Berhampur, they first saw the handwriting of Sri Chaitanya Dev on the palm idol at Sripat at Bharatpur. From there, the tour group visited several historical temples of terracotta architecture at Kagram at Salar Thana area. Finally, the team visited Sonarundi Banwaribad Rajbari, a historical monument of Salar Thana area. This initiative is to bring out the history of Murshidabad and Bengal to the country and the world. This touring group performed ensemble music in this historic building. Our organization's letter to the administration regarding the restoration and proper preservation of the terracotta architectural temple and dilapidated Sonarundi Banwaribid Rajbari has received a positive response. Preliminary discussions on solutions have also begun.

Rao Jogindranarayan Roy's Birthday Celebration

The 179-th birth anniversary of Rai Bahadur Rao jogindranarayan Roy was celebrated at Berhampur on 24/12/23 under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. The people present on this day first offered garlands and flowers to the bust of Raja Rao Jogindranarayan Roy located at Berhampur collectorate intersection. After that various speakers discussed various aspects of Maharaja's life and work. A day before the said birthday celebrations, the bust of Raja Jogindranarayan Roy was cleaned at the initiative of our organisation. It is also to be noticed that from last 2016 our organization started the first official birthday celebration of Raja Jogindranarayan Roy in front of this bust. Since then, this programme entered the eighth consecutive year. The National Anthem has been performed at the end of the programme.

Visit to Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum under joint initiative

Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum Visit programme was held at Berhampur on 18/12/23 by the joint initiative of Berhampur Girls' College and Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. By 12.30 pm, a total of about 40 students and teachers of Bengali, History and Sanskrit departments of Berhampur Girls' College participated in this initiative. Everyone toured the museum for about two hours. After that, a discussion was held inside the museum about the museum.

Organization's Stall at Murshidabad District Book Fair

Murshidabad District Book Fair was held at Berhampore Barrack Square from 09/12/23 to 15/12/23. There, like every year, a stall is provided by the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Books published by the organization are displayed in that stall. Also, every day discussion and chat about history and tradition is held at the organization's stall. It is particularly noteworthy that the book 'Murshidabader Nawabi Itihaser Kaalponji (1700-1970)' [Chronology of Murshidabad's Nawabi History (1700-1970)] published by the organization on the first day of the book fair created a record by selling 200 copies within four days of the book fair.

Heritage tour to Lalgola on the eve of World Heritage Week

19th to 25th November is World Heritage Week. On that occasion the second expedition of 'Murshidabad Heritage and Academic Tour' is organised to bring out the history of Murshidabad as well as Bengal to the heart of the country and the world. Its destination is historical Lalgola, the site of the composition of 'Vandemataram Sangeet' and some parts of 'Anandamath' Novel. This heritage tour started on 19/11/23 with a total of 50 tourists by bus from Berhampur under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. In the beginning, the tour group reached Lalgola through the historic Katra Mosque. There they visited Lalgola Rajbari Guest House, Lalgola Raj Kalibari, Kalkali River, Art Gallery of Lalgola M.N Academy High School and places having fond memories of film director Ritwik Ghatak and great poet Kazi Nazrul. There are many important histories associated with Bankimchandra's memory spread in Lalgola. During a few months' stay at Lalgola while Deputy Magistrate at Murshidabad, he wrote the famous Vandemataram Sangeet and parts of the Anandamath novel. And at the very place where the Vandemataram song was composed, this national chant was performed by the 'Murshidabad Heritage and Academic Tour' team. Finally, this one-day heritage tour ended with a sunset view of the Padma River near the Bangladesh border from Lalgola.

Lit a candle in the heart of history n Diwali

When the surrounding is illuminated on Diwali, the history swallowed in darkness is enlightened. Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra has taken such a novel initiative in various historical places of Murshidabad district. The programme of lighting candles has been taken on 13/11/23 at various historical places like King Shashank's historic Karnasuvarna Pratnakshetra area, Nimtita Zamindar Bari, the palace where Satyajit Ray's movie 'Jalsaghar' was shot, Cossimbazar Bara Rajbari, one of the heart of renaissance in native Bengal, Fouti Mosque built by Nawab Sarfaraz Khan in Lalbagh and Lalgola Rajbari Guest House which is bearing many witnesses of history. Since 2018, this innovative programme has been initiated by the organization to increase the awareness of history among the people and draw the attention of the administration to preserve the heritage.

Official Inauguration of Murshidabad Heritage & Academic Tour

An initiative has been taken by the organization to bring the historical tourist places of Murshidabad district and Bengal to the map of the country and the world. For this purpose "Murshidabad Heritage and Academic Tour" is officially inaugurated on 8th October, 2023.This one-day heritage tour is officially launched in Berhampur with a total of 50 tourists organized by the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. This initiative is taken by the organization to attract the attention of tourists to the unknown historical places, which are largely unknown about heritage tourism. Starting from Berhampur in the morning, we first travels to Bhattabati Ratneshwar temple via Khosbag burial ground, Kiriteshwari temple and Charbangla temple sites in Azimganj Baranagar.This one day heritage tour ends with a visit to the tomb of Nawab Sujauddin at Raushanbagh on the way back. At the initiative of the organisation, light was installed in the Archaeological Site of ​​Karnasubarna

Rajbaridanga archaeological site at Karnasubarna has been taken over by ASI. Historically it has national and international importance. This archaeological site along with various historical places of Karnasubarna has been neglected for a long time. There is no attempt to develop tourism around history here. For a long time, our organisation has been trying to develop a historical tourist center by properly preserving all these historical places of Karnasubarna. This Rajbaridanga archaeological site was in darkness from the beginning. On last 15/04/23 Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra took initiative to develop tourism in the area through historical preservation and a written application was made to the district administration for four solar high light poles in the area. Not just written application, our organisation provides complete support from the arrival of the light to the installation of the four light poles in that area. On 30/09/23, the day before the installation of the lamp posts, after the items arrived, arrangements were made to keep them there properly at the initiative of our organisation. On 01/10/23, the members of our organisation were present to assist in this work of the installation of the lamp pillars from the morning inspite of rainy weather. Additional District Magistrate (Development) Shri Nirmalya Gharami came to see the last part of the work that afternoon. On that day, the first light was shone at the night in the Rajbaridanga archaeological site of Karnasubarna, which had been in the dark for so long. We hope the installation of this light will play an important role in attracting tourists from all over Bengal and the country.

The website was inaugarated by two eminent doctors of this district Dr. Nirmal Saha and Dr. Koushik Ghosh. This initiative aims to directly and quickly convey the history of Murshidabad district and Bengal and history and heritage-based tourism to the people of the country and the world. In Response to our Organisation's Appeal, the Administration Installed a Heritage Notice Board at the Historic Saidabad Rajbari

The administration has responded to the long-standing appeal of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra and installed a heritage notice board installed of historic Saidabad Rajbari on 11-th September 2023. The Saidabad Rajbari is located at the northern end of the present Berhampore Town. On that day, the district administration and members of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra were present and this heritage notice board is installed with mutual cooperation. In the 2nd half of nineteenth century, benevolent Rani of Cossimbazar built this building for the purpose of bathing in the Holy Ganges. She lived in this house for the last part of her life. She died in this building in 1897. This century-old historical building is now practically in ruins due to lack of renovations as per the rules of time. The members of the Cossimbazar Royal Family donated the building to the govt library under written conditions. Since 1956, a part of this building house the offices of Murshidabad District Library or Manindrachandra Nandi District Library. Later in 1992 the District Library office came up at its present location near to Berhampur Barrack Square ground. However, Berhampur Town Library or Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi Town Library is opened in Saidabad Rajbari since 1997. Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi Town Library still exists there. Although the property of the library, only parts of the front two floors (ground and ist floors) of this building survive in any way. The rest of the building is wooded. The plaster has fallen off. The roof collapsed. Now most of the houses are abandoned and dangerous. There is a snake den. Small shops occupied some broken parts on the ground floor. However, on May 28, 2007, the State Heritage Commission officially declared this building as a heritage, but since then there is not even a single notice board, so the matter remains unknown to many. An eminent scholar and the epitome of harmony Dr. Rezaul Karim's birthday was celebrated in 1st July 2023 in front of his bust at Mohan Cinema More at Berhampore Town under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. The 164-th birthday of Manindra Chandra Nandi, Maharaja of Cossimbazar royal family and scholar, has been celebrated on 28th(eight) Jaishtha,1430 as per Bengali calendar. Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra organised this birthday celebration for the 7-th consecutive year at the benevolent Maharaja's bust near Berhampore Maharani Kashishwari Girls' High School at 7.30 a.m. At first flowers and garlands is offered to the bust. Life and deeds of Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi has been discussed through speeches of eminent persons present there. History and culture enthusiasts from Berhampore town as well as Murshidabad district is present there. Like every year, this year also the bust of Manindra Chandra Nandi, which was lying in garbage and neglect throughout the year, was cleaned two days before the birthday by the initiative of our organisation.

Death Anniversary of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay

On May 23, 2023, the 94-th death anniversary of one of the discoverers of the Indus Valley Civilization and world's eminent archaeologist Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, had been celebrated at the Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum Campus at Berhampur. At first garlands and flowers has been offered to the bust of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay located there. Various aspects of the life of this soil-son of Berhampur as well as Murshidabad district were remembered. District's prominent history researchers, scholars and many others were present there. It is to be noted that on 1st October 2020, the first and only bust in the district of this world renowned archaeologist was established in this museum campus as a joint initiative of the Murshidabad District Administration and our organisation. Then it is the second time official death anniversary of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay is celebrated there on the initiative of our organisation.

Under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra prominent comic artist in the Bengal radio world, writer, journalist, literary hDeparted Sarat Chandra Pandit (Dadathakur)'s 142-nd birth anniversary is celebrated at Raghunathganj in Murshidabad district. Garlands and flowers has been first offered to the bust of Dadathakur located in front of the auditorium named after him. Various aspects of his life and work is discussed. It is to be noted that this bust was established in collaboration with Murshidabad District Administration and Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra on October 1, 2020. After the installation of the statue, for the second time here Dadathakur's birthday is celebrated in front of the bust.

The Arrival of the aged Grandson of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay from Kolkata at the Birthday Celebration of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay

Like every year this year also the 139-th birthday of world-renowned archaeologist, one of the discoverer of Mohenjodaro i.e Indus Valley Civilisation and child of the soil (Bhumiputra) of Berhampore town as well as Murshidabad district Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay on 12th April, 2023 at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Musuem Campus. From 2016 this birthday has been celebrated by our organisation 'Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra' and this is the first time that the own grandson of this legendary person Shri Debasish Bandyopadhyay, who was settled in Kolkata, came to attend the celebration. With him his son and niece has also attended the programme. It is to be noted that Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay was born at Berhampur town on 12-th April, 1885. At the beginning of the programme everyone present there along with Rakhaldas's grandson paid tribute to the bust of Rakhaldas by offering flowers and garlands. Various speakers spoke about life and deeds of Rakhaldas. Debasish Bandyopadhyay, the grandson of Rakhaldas came up with interesting unknown facts and family-related stories about Rakhaldas. In this programme a binding photo of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay has been presented to his grandson from our organisation. On this day, two items of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's memorabilia were handed over to our organisation as the director of the museum for exhibition in the museum on behalf of the family. This is the first time that the grandson of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay came at Berhampur town after the establishment of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum. It is also to be noted that every year since 2016 the birthday of Rakaldas Bandyopadhyay has been celebrated continuously by our organisation. Celebrating Raja Krishnanath's birthday through drama as an initiative of the organisation to increase the awareness of history in the public through drama presentation

A noble initiative is started by our organisation to increase the awareness of history among the general people through drama. The 202-nd birthday of Raja Krishnanath, the son of Cossimbazar Boro Rajbari, was celebrated on March 12, 2023 by the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charha Kendra at Berhampore Rabindra Sadan Auditorium. Four students of the schools and college named after Raja Krishnanath, i.e Krishnath Collegiate School (Primary and High School sections) and Krishnath College (Graduate and Post-Graduate sections) lit the lamp and inaugurate today's proceedings. After that there was a small discussion about his life and work. On this day a special play from 'Sahasa' group,Berhampore has been performed named 'Raja Krishnanath (Dour)' in the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Our first step in this regard is historically very successful. The whole theater was full of audience.The fully packed auditorium enjoyed the play to its fullest. Beside that the publications of our organisation had been also displayed there. At the end the organiser presented the Sahasa group a binding photo of Raja Krishnanath. On this day, from the stage of Krishnanath's birthday celebration, it had been again informed that the organisation will take all possible initiatives to establish the bust of Raja Krishnanath at Berhampur Town. It was also announced on this day by the organisation that this special initiative to increase awareness of history in the general people through drama will be taken every year not only in Murshidabad district but also in the entire state and the country. Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum Campus Visit and Workshop on Regional History

Workshop on Regional History and Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum visit organised by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra on 9th January 2023 at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum Campus, Berhampur. A total of 150 students and teachers from 9 girls' high schools of Berhampur Town and district participated here. Many dignitaries including Murshidabad Additional District Magistrate (Development) Sri Nirmalya Gharami were present. It is to be noted that this is the first time that a history workshop was held with so many students and teachers at the Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum campus and along with this so many teachers and students were ist time participated in the museum visit programme. Many students and Teachers also expressed their opinion and shared their experience about the programme.

Like every year a stall pavillion (stall no-135) is given on behalf of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra in Murshidabad District Book Fair 2022. Books related history of Murshidabad district and Bengal which published by the organisation has been displayed in the stall from 28-th December 2022 to 4-th January 2023. From beginning to end many Researchers, writers and culture-enthusiast people from all corners of the district and Bengal assembled in the stall and shared their opinions.

Jogindranarayan Roy's Birthday Celebration

On 24-th December 2022, like every year, the 178-th birth anniversary of the philanthropist Maharaja Jogindranarayan Roy of Lalgola was celebrated at Berhampur Collectorate More by the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. In this celebration of the seventh consecutive year initiated by the organisation, garlands and flowers were first placed on the bust. Various information related to Maharaja's life and work came up in the discussion of various speakers present on this day. In 2016, Jogindranarayan Roy's birthday was being celebrated for the first time officially in the district on the initiative of this organisation. The National Anthem was performed at the end of the ceremony. In keeping with the continuity of every year, this time also in this celebration phase, just two days ago, the bust, full of garbage for the whole year was cleaned by the organisation.

Regional History Awareness Workshop

On 9-December 2022, Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra and History Department of Panchthupi Haripada Gouribala College jointly organised a one-day state-level regional history awareness workshop. About 200 students participated in this workshop held in that college. Various speakers spoke on the topic. There was an exchange of views with the students present there. At the end of the workshop, participation certificates were handed over to all the students. Also, Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, one of the organisers of the workshop, presented to the college authorities a framed photo of Raja Krishnanath, one of the renaissance figures of Bengal and Murshidabad district.

Heritage Walk Programme

Heritage Walk programme is held on 24th November, 2022 under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. This initiative is mainly aimed at increasing the awareness of heritage among the common people on the occasion of World Heritage Week from 19th to 25th November and attracting the attention of the administration for the development of tourism by renovating and preserving the neglected heritages in accordance with the heritage norms. In this programme, Cossimbazar Boro Rajbari i.e Shreepur Palace, which is virtually dilapidated, is visited first. Then from there the cemetery of the British along with the tomb of wife and daughter of Warren Hastings located at Cossimbazar, which is acquired by the ASI, is visited. Additional District Magistrate (Development) of Murshidabad District Hon'ble Nirmalya Gharami was present in this programme.

Nimtita Zamindar Bhaban Abhijan

Nimitita Zamindar Bhaban Abhijan is held on 6th November 2022 under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra . This campaign aims to restore and preserve this historic building in scientific method with the heritage and use it for development of tourism purposes. Along with this, encouraging the public and local people and attracting the attention of the administration is one of the objectives of this campaign. A meeting was held in front of Nimtita Zamindar Bhaban on the initiative of the organisation. A total of around 150 people were present including local people and people from all over Murshidabad district and outside the district. This is the biggest meeting on this matter so far that held in front of this historic palace. Around 60 enthusiastic people arrived in two buses from District Town Berhampur to attend the programme. In the discussion, various speakers from local and outside expressed important views on this issue. At the last part of the programme, some artists came from different places and some local artists together performed chorus song and the national anthem there.

Diwali Candlelight at Historic Monuments that lies in Darkness

Like every year, Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra took up the programme of lighting candles at various historical places of Murshidabad district which were plunged in darkness on Diwali for the fifth consecutive year. Cossimbazar Boro Rajbari (Sripore palace), Karnasubarna Archaeological Sites, Nimitita Zamindar Bari, Lalbagh Fouti Mosque and Lalgola Rajbari Guest House were among the sites. The initiative has been taken on 25th October, 2022. The objective is to attract the attention of the administration by lighting candles in all these dilapidated neglected historical places and to increase the history awareness among the common people.

Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman-2022

Like every year this year also "Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman" has been given by selecting the best history-oriented Durga Puja theme in Murshidabad district. This year on behalf our organization the 'Sarad Samman' is given to Budhaipara Sarbojonin Durga Puja Committee of Lalbag. Their theme is 'Discovery of Harappa and Mohenjodaro a.k.a Indus Valley Civilization'. This is the sixth consecutive year of this prestigious honour. Particularly this honour is exceptional Initiative of Bengal. The honour is officially announced on 30-th September 2022 in the stage of Budhaipara Sarbojonin Durga Puja Committee. It is also announced that this 'Samman' will officialy be given on the auspicious stage of "Murshidabad History Festival- 2023" in February, 2023.

Freedom Fighter Pradyot Kumar Roychowdhury's Birthday Celebration

On 4th July, 2022, the 110th birth anniversary of Andaman Cellular-Jail returned freedom fighter Pradyot Kumar Roychowdhury, native of Malihati village of Salar police station in Murshidabad district, has been officially celebrated jointly by our organisation and Malihati Durgadas Saralabala Chhatra Samaj Rural Library, of that village. The birthday celebration is held in that library. At first, garlands and floral tributes were paid to the bust of Pradyot Kumar Roychowdhury which established in front of the library. Then different speakers discussed about his life. Many people including Jagatjyoti Roychowdhury, son of the late revolutionary, were present. Cultural programmes were performed during the celebration. At the end of the ceremony, the National Anthem has been played in front of the bust. It is to be noted that this bust was established here on 17-th December, 2021 with initiative and full financial support of our organisation. It is the only freedom fighter's bust installed in Murshidabad district who are Andaman Cellular-Jail returned freedom fighter. This is the first time that Pradyot Kumar Roy Choudhury's birthday has been officially celebrated.

Celebration of International Museum Day

International Museum Day was celebrated on 18th May 2022 under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Various speakers highlighted the importance of museums at the event at Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum campus at Berhampur. Many of them expressed their views on how to further improve Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum, which is managed by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra and controlled by district administration. Apart from various researchers and enthusiastic people, Additional District Magistrate (Zilla Parishad) of Murshidabad district Mr. Apratim Ghosh was also present on this occasion. At the end of the programme, the chorus National Anthem was played. It is to be noted that on 01/10/2020 "Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum" was established. 'International Museum Day' is celebrated in this museum campus for the first time after the establishment of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum.

The 138-th birthday of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, the world-renowned archaeologist and native of Berhampore town of Murshidabad district, had been celebrated on April 12, 2022 by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. This birthday had been celebrated in the Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum Campus, which was built at Berhampur town by the Murshidabad District Administration and our organisation, in front of the Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's bust in the museum campus. At first, garlands and floral tributes had been given to the bust of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay. Additional District Magistrate(ZP) Sri Apratim Ghosh was present there. ADM Mr. Apratim Ghosh and Some others speakers had discussed about his life and activities. It is to be noted that this is only bust of this world-famous archaeologist in his native district. It should also be noted that since 2016, his birthday has been celebrated for eighth consecutive years under the initiative of our organisation. At the end, the National Anthem had been sung together.

Raja Krishnanath's Birthday Celebration

The 201-st birthday of Raja Krishnanath, the son of Cossimbazar Boro Rajbari, was celebrated on March 12, 2022 by the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charha Kendra. The event, held in front of Cossimbazar Boro Rajbari, was the culmination of the year-long celebrations of Raja Krishnanath's 200-th birthday. At first, after giving garlands and flowers to the picture, there is a discussion about his life and work. On this day, from the stage of Krishnanath's birthday celebration, it was again informed that the organisation will take all possible initiatives to establish the bust of Raja Krishnanath at Berhampur Town. It is also to be noted that on the occasion of the 200-th birth anniversary of Raja Krishnanath, various initiatives are taken by the organisation throughout the year. In Murshidabad History Festival-2022 50 high schools from different places of Murshidabad district were officially presented the binding photo of Raja Krishnanath. The birthday programme of Raja Krishnanath's came to an end with chorus National Anthem.

Karnasubarna Pratnakshetra Expedition

"Karnasubarna Pratnakshetra Abhijan" was held on 6th March 2022 under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. This campaign demands proper maintenance of the archaeological sites spread over various parts of Karnasubarna, repair of long broken wall of ASI-owned Rajbaridanga archaeological site, adequate promotion of heritage tourism and infrastructure development of the entire area. One of the objectives of this campaign is to create more awareness about the issue among the common people and to attract the attention of the administration to implement the demands. On behalf of the organisation, various ancient sites of Karnasubarna area has been visited and observed with various enthusiastic people. The local people is urged to come forward in this initiative by informing them about the need to preserve the matter. Based on this observation, it has been decided to send a complete written report and proposal to the concerned departments on behalf of the organisation. To make the campaign more interesting in the last phase of the campaign at the Rajbaridanga Archaeological site at Karnasubarna, history-related music is performed.

Installation of Bust of Cellular Jail-Returned Freedom Fighter

With the initiative and financial support of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, the bust of freedom fighter Pradyot Kumar Roychowdhury, who had returned from Cellular Jail, was erected at his native place, Malihati, a remote village under Salar police station in Murshidabad district on 17th December, 2021. He is one of the four or five freedom fighters who had returned from the Andaman cellular jail in the entire Murshidabad district. In this village of Malihati, about 60 km from district headquarters Berhampur, Superintendent of Police of Murshidabad Police Distrct Hon'ble K. Shabari Rajkumar came to unveil the statue installed in front of Malihati Durgadas Sarlabala Chhatra Samaj Rural Library. BDO Ashish Kumar Mondal of Bharatpur-II Block, C.I of Bharatpur Police Station, OC of Salar Police Station and many others were present there. Before the unveiling of the bust a programme has been organised. In that programme Hon'ble Superintendent of Police K.Shabari Rajkumar, BDO Shri Ashish Kumar Mandal of Bharatpur- II Block , Secretary of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra Shri Arindam Roy and Librarian of that library Shri Prabir Chakraborty, Senior President of that library Sri Mritunjoy Paul delivered valuable speeches about the respectable revolutionary and the importance of such installation of bust. Local artists performed small cultural programme. On behalf of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, a binding photo of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, the world-renowned archaeologist and native of Murshidabad district, had been officially handed over to the library authorities. After this the bust was unveiled by Hon'ble Superintendent of Police of Murshidabad Police District Shri K Shabari Rajkumar by cutting the ribbon through a colourful ceremony. Closing Ceremony of Centenary Celebration of Mohenjodaro Discovery

Under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, the year-long Centenary Celebration of Mohenjodaro Discovery was held in front of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's (one of the discoverers) bust at Berhampur Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum Campus on 5th December, 2021. Some researchers and speakers were discussed on his World famous Mohenjodaro Discovery. We are the only organization in Bengal to celebrate the centenary of the discovery of Mohenjo-daro by Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay through various relevant initiatives throughout the year.

Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman-2021 had been selected as the best history-oriented Sharadiya Puja theme of Murshidabad district in the judgment of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra like every year. It was officially announced by the organisation on on 12th October. Sharad Samman recipient was Babulbona Sarbajonin Durga Puja Committee. Their pandal theme was 'Hill and Temple Sculptures of Ancient India'. This is the only Sharad Samman in Bengal that relates with the history-orieneted theme.

Under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, Dr. Rezaul Karim's 120-th birthday was celebrated on 1st July,2021. First garlands and flowers were offered to the bust at Berhampore Mohan House More. Researchers and culture enthusiasts from different parts of the district discussed his life and work. The celebration ended with the national anthem like every year.

Manindra Chandra Nandi's Birthday Celebration

The 162-nd birthday of Manindra Chandra Nandi, Maharaja of Cossimbazar royal family and scholar, was celebrated on 28th Jaishtha, 1428 (as per Bengali calendar). The fourth consecutive birthday celebration organized by the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra was done in full compliance with the safety measures necessary for Corona pandemic. Like every year the programme started at 7:30 a.m. near Berhampore Maharani Kashiswari Girls' High School. People who were present there garlanded the bust of Manindra Chandra Nandi. Like every year, this year also the bust of Manindra Chandra Nandi, which was lying in garbage and neglect throughout the year, was cleaned two days before the birthday by the initiative of the organisation.

Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's birthday celebration

The 137-th birthday of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, a native of Murshidabad district, had been celebrated on April 12, 2021 by the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. This birthday was celebrated in front of the Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum built at Berhampore town by the collective effort of Murshidabad District Administration and Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. After establishing the museum campus and bust of Rakhaldas Bandopadhyay it was the first birthday celebration in Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum in front of the bust of this world-renowned archaeologist in the museum campus. It should be noted that since 2016, this birthday had been celebrated for seven consecutive years under the initiative of our organization. It is also be noted that after continuous hardships and efforts Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay Museum was founded on October 1, 2020 in Panchanantala, Berhampore with the kind help of Murshidabad District Administration and a bust of the eminent archaeologist was also ereccted on that very day. At the end, the National Anthem was played. On this day, the centenary of the discovery of Mohenjodaro by Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay was commemorated in various ways.

Jogindranarayan Roy's Birthday Celebration

Like every year, munificient Maharaja of Lalgola Rai Bahadur Jogindranarayan Roy's 176-th birthday had been celebrated by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra on 24th December, 2020 at Berhampore Collectorate More. Garlands and flowers were being offered to the bust of this philanthropist Maharaja by all present there. Then various speakers spoke about the life and deeds of the Maharaja. It is to be noted that in 2016, Jogindranarayan Roy's birthday was first officially celebrated by the organiser. This year also, just two days before this celebration, the bust, which was full of garbage, was cleaned by the organisation. The programme came to an end with chorus national anthem.

Candles lit on Diwali in the dark historic sites-2020

Like every year, for the third consecutive year, some of Murshidabad's darkened history and heritage sites had been lit by the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. This programme had been taken for the last three years to increase the awareness of history among the common people, attract the attention of the administration to restore and preserve the heritage and develop the tourism of the district and Bengal through the preservation of heritage. This is totally unique initiative of Bengal by the organiser.

To increase the awareness of history and heritage in the public, the Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman was started from the year 2016 by selecting the best history-oriented theme of Sharidiya festival in Murshidabad district. Accordingly, Bishnupur Anami Club of Berhampore had been selected as the best in the district in the judgment of the organiser. Their theme is the 'Berhampore Rabindra Sadan'. Architectural Model. Berhampore RabindraSadan Auditorium has reach and glorious cultural and traditional History. During this Shardia festival on 25-th October, the best history and heritage theme of the district is officially announced. It is also announced that the Sharad Samman will be officialy handed over on February 2021 at Berhampore Rabindra Sadan in the 'Murshidabad History Festival-2021'. It is to be noted that the award was presented for the fifth consecutive year inspite of Corona epidemic.

Stall Pavellion in Murshidabad District Book Fair- 2020

A book stall was provided to Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra in the Murshidabad District Book Fair 2020 in the Barrack Square Maidan during 11th to 16th January. Books on Murshidabad district and district related regional history published by the organisation were displayed at the organisation's own stall no.65. In that exhibition stall, every day talks, discussions and different views of various writers, researchers of the district and people who are fond of history and culture were exchanged.

Jogindranarayan Roy's 175th Birthday Celebration

On 24th December 2019, the 175-th birth anniversary of Maharaja Rai Bahadur Rao Jogindranarayan Roy of Lalgola was celebrated at the Berhampore Collectorate Club More at the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Writers, researchers, artists and history enthusiasts from various parts of the district along with Additional District Magistrate of Murshidabad district Shri Sudipta Porel were present in this birthday celebration. That came into its consecutive fourth year of celebration by the organizer. ADM Shri Sudipta Porel also gave flowers on this day. In the discussion of various speakers, various things related to this eminent person came up. It is to be noted that this time, just two days before the birthday celebration, this bust was cleaned at the initiative of the organiser like every year. The national anthem was played together at the end of the programme.

On Diwali, candles were lit at historical places that were in darkness-2019

Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra lit the candle in some dark neglected Heritage and Historical places when the surrounding was illuminated with the lights of Diwali. Cossimbazar Baro Rajbari, Nimitita Zamindar's House, Karnasubarna Archaeological site and Lalgola Rajbari Guest House were among the places. The event was held on 27th October, 2019. The objective was to increase the awareness of history among the people and to attract the attention of the administration to protect these traditions and also to develop the tourism of the district through the hand of history. Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra initiated this innovative programme in the Bengal and it entered in its second year.

Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman- 2019

In order to increase the awareness of history in Murshidabad district, the tradition of awarding 'Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman' by choosing the best history-oriented theme of Sharadiya festival in the district has been started since 2016. This year 'Narsinghpur Maa Durga Puja Committee' had been selected as the best in the district in the judgment of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. 'Buddhist Stupa of Sanchi' was their theme. This Best Sharad Samman was announced as the best history based theme of the district during the festival on 4-th October, 2019. It was also announced that the award will officially handed over in next February in the 'Murshidabad History Festival-2020' on its auspicious stage.

Acharya Ramendrasundar Trivedi's Birthday Celebration

On the 5th Bhadra (as per Bengali calendar) the 156-th birth anniversary of Ramendrasundar Trivedi was celebrated jointly by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra and Ramendrasundar Smriti Mandir at Kandi. 92-year-old Ashok Roy, the grandson of the daughter of Ramendrasundar Trivedi inaugurated the ceremony by unveiling the busts of Ramendrasundar Trivedi and Jogindranarayan Roy inside the Ramendrasundar Trivedi Memorial Library. On behalf of the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, the second and third volumes of the book 'Murshidabad Anusandhan' published by the organisation, were officially handed over to the president of the museum i.e Kandi Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shri Abhik Kumar Das. Additional District Magistrate of Murshidabad Shri Sudipta Porel and Kandi Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shri Abhik Kumar Das were present on the day. Besides, a total of 22/23 members of Acharya family including I.A.S Officer Nitya Sundar Trivedi were also present in this birthday celebration for the first time. A colorful procession circumambulated the city of Kandi before the ceremony began.

At the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, the 160-th birth anniversary of Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi was celebrated on Wednesday, 28th Jaistha,1426 (as per Bengali calendar). The organisation cleaned this neglected, garbage-covered bust located in front of Berhampore Maharani Kashiswari Girls' High School like every year. In the event, this demonic and scholarly Maharaja was remembered by garlanding and giving flowers and discussion by various speakers present there. At the end, the national anthem was played. Many history and culture loving people across the district were present in the programme.

Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's Birthday Celebration

Like every year, this year also Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's Birthday Celebration took place at the first floor of Berhampore Collectorate Club Hall on 12th April, 2019 at the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra . The first speaker of the 135-th birthday celebration was Professor of History (Department of Ancient History) of Calcutta University, Dr. Sudeepa Roy Bandopadhyay. At the beginning of the programme, the history enthusiasts present there gave garlands and flowers to the photo. Two ensemble songs were performed. Professor of History of Burdwan University and member of the organising society Rajarshi Chakraborty delivered the welcome address. Senior poet of the district Utpal Gupta recited poems written on Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay. The Eminent doctor of the district Dr. Nirmal Saha and Shantanu Banerjee, one of the family related members of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay also shared their thought. After that, a speech competition was held for 4 minutes with a total of five students of schools and colleges. The topic was : "Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay — Soil-son (Bhumi-Putra) yet forgotten in his own soil". The judges awarded prizes to the first, second and third place winners and gave certificates to all. The roles of the judge were taken by Dr. Sudeepa Roy Banerjee and Sudipta Chakraborty, teacher of Sargachi Ramakrishna Mission. After that, the laminated photograph of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, the alumni of Berhampore Krishnanath College School, was officially handed over to the Krishnanath College School authorities by the organiser. As the last speaker Dr. Sudeepa Roy Banerjee revealed many unknown stories of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay. The programme concluded with the national anthem. This programme had surpassed all precedents. On 24th December, 2018, the 174-th birth anniversary of Maharaja Rai Bahadur Rao Jogindranarayan Roy of Lalgola was celebrated at the initiative of the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra for the third year. Authors, researchers, artists and history enthusiasts from various parts of the district were present in this birthday celebration. At the beginning of the celebration, garlands and flowers were offered to the bust by all present. In the discussion of various speakers, various things related to this eminent person came up. It is to be noted that, like every time, just two days before the birthday celebration, this bust was cleaned by the organiser. All posters, flags and hoardings around the enclosure wall of the bust were removed. Along with this, there was a strong demand from the organiser not to put any posters, hoardings or flags around the surrounding wall of the bust. Everyone present there demanded to stop this insult to the prides of districts as well as of the nation and sight-pollution. On this day, it was also announced that this bust will be maintained throughout the year as much as possible by the organising society. National anthem was performed at the end of the programme.

Darkened Historical Places Lit Up By Diwali-Candles

On November 9, 2018, candles were lit in dark historical places on Diwali by the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. It is a unique and exceptional initiative in the Bengal. This novel programme was conducted by lighting candles in dilapidated Cossimbazar Boro Rajbari and Saidabad Rajbari and old Kumar Hostel at Gorabazar, located at Berhampore town. The aim was to attract the attention of the administration and general citizen and enhancing awareness to protect and preserve the heritage. Along with this, the expansion of heritage based tourism in preserving the history was also one of the aim. One day these historical places had a glimmer of light. But when the surrounding lightened up on Diwali, these historical treasures are plunged into darkness. We hope everyone will be sincere in protecting the history and heritage.

'Domkal Sporting Club' has been selected as the best of the district for the third year i.e 2018 by 'Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra'. Their theme was - 'Architectural Structure of Red Fort, Delhi'. During the festival the award was announced as the best history based theme of the district on 16th October 2018. This award will be officially handed over to the theme organising Puja committee- 'Domkal Sporting Club' during the 'Murshidabad History Festival-2019' celebration in the month of February at Berhampore Rabindra Sadan.

Various researchers, artists, writers and culture enthusiasts of the district remembered this distinguished man. The second-time birthday celebration organised by the organisation concluded with the national anthem.

Birthday celebration of Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi

The 159-th birth anniversary of Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi, the educationist of Cossimbazar royal family, was celebrated on 24-th Jaishta 1425 (as per Bengali calendar). The second-time birthday celebration organised by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra was held at 7:30 am in front of the bust of Manindra Chandra Nandi near Berhampore Maharani Kashiswari Girls' High School. At the beginning of the celebration, the cultural enthusiasts offered garlands and flowers to the bust. Various literary, researchers, artists, writers and history conscious people of the district remembered this munificient Maharaja in many ways. It has to be noted that two days before this birthday celebration, this bust was cleaned by the organisation. Throughout the year this statue is practically neglected, in an unclean condition, covered with hoardings and banners of various organisations and political parties. On behalf of the organisers of the birthday celebration, a proposal was accepted to take care of this neglected bust throughout the year. The birthday celebration was ended with the national anthem.

Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's Birthday Celebration

Many researchers, artists, writers and history lovers from Berhampur and Murshidabad districts were present on 12th April, 2018, Thursday in the celebration to mark the 134-th birthday of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, a native of Berhampore (Murshidabad district) and one of the discoverers of Indus Valley Civilisation, in the first floor of Berhampore Collectorate Club Hall at the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Also, like every time, the descendants of the family of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, currently living at Berhampore Town, were also invited. This distinguished man was remembered in musical performances, garlanding the photo and discussions. Although he was born at Berhampore town, there is still no bust of him in this town and even in whole Murshidabad District. Even late Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's birthday was not even celebrated in his hometown Berhampore as well as in Murshidabad district or any other places. On behalf of the organiser, applications are being submitted to various government quarters to install a bust of him in the town since the first birthday celebration of 2016. That demand was again voiced in unison from today's event. The national anthem was performed at the end of the celebration.

Girijashankar Chakraborty's Birthday Celebration

On 20-th December 2017 Monday at 7 o'clock in the evening, the 133-rd birthday of Acharya Girijashankar Chakraborty, the famous Indian music artist and native of Murshidabad district, was celebrated at his birth place at Berhampore Town. The event was organised by the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. This is the first time that this eminent person's birth anniversary was officially celebrated. Prominent researchers, writers, culture enthusiasts of the district along with the descendants of the family of Girijashankar Chakraborty who lived in this house were also present in this birthday celebration. Ninety-four-year-old Gouri Shankar Chakraborty, the only child of Girijashankar Chakraborty, was present. At the beginning of the programmme, veteran Gouri Babu garlanded the portrait of his father Girijashankar. After that everyone present there offered flowers to the picture. Ensemble music was performed keeping in mind the long colorful musical career of Girijashankar Chakraborty. Various things related to Girijashankar were discussed through multi-angle analysis. Gouri Babu, the elder of the family and other members of the family also told various family stories related to this musician. Berhampore Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer Divyanarayan Chattopadhyay was present as the chief guest. His speech paid tribute to this great artist. In order to preserve and recognize the memory of this almost pan-Indian musician, the organizing body Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, requested to name a street after him at Berhampore town, preserve a bust and his birth place and put up an identifying signboard in front of his house. These requests were positively supported by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Divyanarayan Chattopadhyay who was present on the occasion. Divyababu said with full assurance of consideration of the issues . The birthday celebration ended with a chorus national anthem.

A One-day International Seminar

A one-day international seminar was organised on 16th December,2017 at the joint initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra and Domkal Girls' College on "The World of Women in the 19th and 20th Centuries : Locality, Nation and Beyond".The seminar was held in Domkal Girls' College.The eminent lecturers in that seminar were Dr. Uday Shankar Biswas, Asst. Professor of History of Rajshahi University, Bangladesh , Dr. Saiyyed Tanvir Nasreen, Professor of History of Barddhaman University, Dr. Sabyasachi Chattopadhyay, Professor of History of Kalyani University, Dr. Saikat Chatterjee, Asst. Professor of Sports of Kalyani University and Dr. Rajarshi Chakraborty, Asst. Professor of History of Barddhaman University. In this seminar a total of 60 participents from various districts presented their respective papers. At the end of the seminar the organising society gave participation certificate to all delegates.

For enhancing awareness and consciousness about history in general people Murshidabad zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra awarded the best history-oriented Durga Puja festival theme as 'Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman' from 2016 onwards. In 2017 this award was announced and this time 'Saidabad Nabarup Sangha' won it for their unique theme 'Unpublished History' (Naa-chhapa Itihas) . During the festival the members of the organising society visited and observed the above mentioned Puja theme and announced the award on their stage. It was also announced that the the award will be formally handed over to the organisers of the Pooja Theme in February at Rabindra Sadan, Murshidabad History Festival-2018 on its auspicious stage.

The 154-th birth anniversary of Ramendra Sundar Trivedi, the vessel of knowledge, gifted writer, scholar of science as well as son of Murshidabad district, was celebrated with due dignity at Jemo Ramendra Sundar Memorial Library at Kandi at the joint initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra and the library on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. At the beginning of this celebration, garlands and flowers were given to the photo. Music and recitations were performed. In the discussion of the speakers many things related to Ramendra Sundar Trivedi's life, thoughts, philosophy and activities came up through multi-angle explanation, analysis and information. Before the start of the programme, the members of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra visited Kandi's Jemo to see Ramendra Sundar's household engulphed with his memories and Ramendra Sundar's initiative against the partition of Bengal in 1905 and the historic site of preaching of 'Bangalakshmir Bratakatha'. The birthday celebrations ended with the chorus national anthem.

Birthday Celebration of Indra Dugar

On the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, the centenary birth anniversary of Indra Dugar, a famous international painter and a soil son (Bhumi-santan) of Murshidabad district (Jiaganj town in particular), was celebrated at Berhampore Yugagni reharsal hall on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 6 pm. In the beginning of the programme the history and culture loving people present there garlanded the photo of the famous painter. In the discussions and tributes of the speakers present there, many things related to the life and creativity of this talented artist came up. From the centenary birthday celebrations, the organisers of the event have demanded that a bust of the international painter Indra Dugar be erected in Murshidabad's Jiaganj town which was his birthplace. It was also announced that in the Murshidabad History Festival (2018), the only history festival of Bengal, a painting exhibition of this renowned painter will be held with utmost respect and significance. The festival will take place at Berhampore Rabindra Sadan auditorium and ground. The programme came to an end with chorus national anthem.

The famous painter of India and the son of soil (Bhumi-santan) of Murshidabad district Kshitindranath Majumder's 127-th birth anniversary was celebrated by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra on 30th July, 2017 at 11am at Rabindranath Primary School, at Berhampore. This was the first time that this eminent painter's birth anniversary was officially celebrated. In the beginning of the celebration the potrait of Kshitindranath Majumder was garlanded by the writers, researchers and culture-loving people. Various aspect of his life was discussed in the programme. Some rare art-pieces of Kshitindranath were shown thereafter. Birthday celebration of Rai Bahadur Surendra Narayan Singh

The 137-th birthday of Murshidabad's soil-son (Jiaganj town in particular) Surendra Narayan Singh, a prominent philanthropist, educationist, patron of the freedom struggle and collector of archaeological materials, was celebrated with due dignity. On Friday 21st July 2017 at 4:30 PM, Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra and Murshidabad District Museum jointly organized this event which was celebrated at Nehalia Rajbari in Surendra Narayan Singh's house Jiaganj. At the beginning of the event, after garlanding the bust of Surendranarayan Singh located in front of the Jiaganj Nehalia Rajbari and Murshidabad District Museum, the celebrations started inside the Rajbari. Hon'ble Topdem Lama, Sub-Divisional Officer of Lalbagh Sub-division was the chief guest and the successor members of the royal family were present. Various things related to Surendra Narayan Singh came up in the discussion of the speakers. Many unknown family stories are also heard in the words of the successor members of the Nehalia royal family. Along with this, from the event Sub division officer gave positive assurances regarding the letter and deputation of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra regarding the request to protect the Char Bangla temple architecture endangered by the Ganga in Baranagar-Azimganj. Many history, culture and education lovers from different parts of the district were present in this event. The programme ended with chorus national anthem.

175th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Baikunthanath Sen

The 175-th birth anniversary of Baikunthanath Sen, the All-India nationalist leader, distinguished lawyer and pride of Murshidabad district was celebrated at Saidabad Rajbari i.e. Berhampore Town Library building on 26-th June 2017 at 4 pm by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. The programme was started by offering garlands and flowers to the photo. After that some chorus music were performed by a local cultural organization. Various information about Baikunthanath Sen came up in the discussion of prominent researchers of the district. Descendants of Baikunthanath Sen's family living at Berhampore were present at this birthday celebration. The celebration of this day was enriched with some unknown new information in the family memorial. Many history and culture lovers from Saidabad area which was Baikunthanath Sen's residence were also present. The chorus national anthem was played at the end of the programme.

154th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi

The 154th birth anniversary of munificient Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi was celebrated on 28th Jaistho 1424 (as per Bengali calender), Monday at 7.30 a.m by Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. It is the first official birthday celebration of Maharaja Manindra Chandra Nandi. The programme was held in front of the bust of renowned Maharaja near Maharani Kashiswari Girls' High School in the presence of some culture-loving people of the town Berhampore. The demon Maharaja was remembered through some speeches of writers and researchers present there. In the beginning everybody garlanded the bust. It has to be noted that at the initiative of the organising society the almost neglected bust had been cleaned 2 days before the programme. At the end everyone sang the national anthem.

Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's Birthday Celebration

On the 12-th of April 2017, the 133-rd birth anniversary of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, one of the inventors of the Indus Valley Civilization and the world-renowned archaeologist, soil son of Berhampore as well as Murshidabad district, was celebrated at the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra on the second floor at Berhampore Collectorate Club Hall. It has to be noted that on 12-th April 2016 the birth anniversary of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay was celebrated for the first time by this organisation. The second year of the celebration was attended by the descendants of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's family living at Berhampore Town and many researchers, writers and history and culture enthusiasts of the district. Various speakers present at the programme shed light on the works of this almost forgotten world-famous personality. During this celebration, a demand letter was presented by the organizing society i.e Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra . The pamphlet demanded – 1) Official acquisition of the traditional Cossimbazar Boro Rajbari i.e Shreepur Palace in agreement with the successors of the royal family, leaving the building structure completely intact. A modern full-fledged university should be built there in the name of Raja Krishnath. 2) A bust of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, a native of Berhampore as well as Murshidabad district, should be erected at Berhampore town. 3) The bridge under construction over the Ganga near Berhampore town should be named after Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay. 4) A history research center and museum named after Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay should be established in Murshidabad district. 5) Murshidabad Medical College should be named after Danveer Raja Jogindra Narayan Roy. At the beginning of the birthday celebrations, garlands and flowers were presented to the photo. The programme of the day ended with the chorus national anthem.

Murshidabad History Festival-2017

On 26th and 27th February, 2017, Bengal's first and only history festival 'Murshidabad History Festival-2017' was held at Rabindra Sadan auditorium and Rabindra Sadan Grounds at Berhampore. Shri Binay Kumar Kundu, Vice President of Numismatic Society of Calcutta, inaugurated the two-day long festival organised on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the organisation of this festival i.e Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. Three ensemble songs directed by Subrata Ghosh were performed at the opening of the programme. Then Professor of History of Burdwan University and member of the organisation Dr. Rajarshi Chakraborty spoke on the topic of 'Importance and Necessity of Regional History Practice'. Then a 30-minute documentary was screened in the same auditorium emphasizing the importance of raising awareness about the neglected, endangered heritage of Murshidabad district and the need to preserve the endangered heritage. In the last part of the documentary, the pictures of 107 famous people in the history of Murshidabad district in the past 250 years had been displayed according to the chronology of history, mentioning the year of birth and death. The documentary also showed some of the destroyed and extinct heritage, architecture and heritage of Murshidabad and some of those which are about to be destroyed. At the end of the documentary, honors had been given on the stage of the auditorium to a total of eight meritorious researchers of Murshidabad district. Then previously announced 'Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman-2016' i.e best selected history-oriented Sharadiya Puja theme of the district had been given to Bhatpara Milani Club Durga Puja Committee of Cossimbazar. On the occasion of Murshidabad History Festival-2017, Historic March- slogan : Walk for the History

On the occasion of Murshidabad History Festival 2017, a novel as well as unique initiative was taken by the organizer of the festival Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. A grand march was held on Sunday, 19/02/2017 with the slogan 'Walk for the History'. This colourful procession started from the front of Behrampur Rabindra Sadan and after circumambulating the Berhampur town, it was ended at the same spot. Various artists, researchers and writers as well as enthusiastic students and youths took part in this auspicious march.

Rao Yogindranarayan Roy's First Official Birthday Celebration

Under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra, on 24/12/16 (Saturday) the first official birthday of the benevolent king of Lalgola Raja Rao Yogindranarayan Roy was celebrated in the heart of Bengal. The present members first offered garlands and flowers to the bust at Baharampur Collector's Junction . Various aspects of his life and work were discussed there. Among the speakers present were veteran writer Utpal Kumar Gupta and prominent researcher of the district Prof. Dr. Bishan Kumar Gupta, prominent essayist of the district Savitri Prasad Gupta and many others. The National Anthem was performed at the end of the programme. Before celebrating the birthday, this bust, which had been lying neglected in the dusty garbage for the whole year, was cleaned by our organization.

First Birthday Celebration of Dr.Ramdas Sen

On 10th December 2016, the first formal birthday celebration (172nd birthday) of Dr. Ramdas Sen, the soil son of Murshidabad district, was celebrated at Krishnanath College campus at Berhampore in the joint initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sankriti Charcha Kendra and History Department of Krishnanath College. He was the first Bengali to receive a doctorate from abroad. In the first phase of this celebration, people present there garlanded and offered flowers to the bust of Dr. Ramdas Sen that was located in the Krishnanath College campus. It should be noted that this statue is the first statue of Murshidabad district which was built in Italy first and then established at college campus in 1899. After that there were various discussions about Dr. Ramdas Sen in the Krishnanath Auditorium located inside the Krishnanath College. Prominent researchers and writers of the district were present as speakers on this day. Among them Prof. Dr. Bishan Kumar Gupta, Prof. Dr. Shyamal Roy, Savitri Prasad Gupta, Prof. Dr. Rajarshi Chakraborty of History Department of Burdwan University, Prof. Dr. Gouri Ghosh (whose PhD thesis is on Dr. Ramdas Sen), member of our organization Arindam Roy and principal of Krishnanath College Dr. Sujata Bandyopadhyay. At the end of the programme, a framed photo of Dr. Ramdas Sen was formally handed over to the principal of Krishnanath College on behalf of our organization.

Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman-2016

Since 2016, the organization has launched 'Murshidabad Itihas o Sanskriti Sharad Samman-2016' by selecting the best history-oriented Durga Puja theme, to increase awareness of history and encourage passion for history. Cossimbazar Bhatpara Milani Club got this honor in the very first year. Cossimbazar Boro Rajbari i.e Shreepur Palace was erected in the mandap structure of that Puja committee. Along with that, the history of the Indigo Rebellion is displayed inside the pavilion. During the festival on 6th October 2016, the award was officially announced as the best history based theme of the district by the organiser i.e Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. During the celebration of 'Murshidabad History Festival-2017', this Sharad Samman was officially handed over to the members of the Puja Committee of the said theme at Berhampore Rabindrasdan stage on behalf of 'Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra'.

Rakhaldas Bandopadhyay's First Birthday Celebration at the Organization's Initiative

Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay, one of the inventors of the Indus Valley Civilization, is a child of soil of Berhampore Town and Murshidabad district. On 12th April 2016 (Tuesday) Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra celebrated his first official birthday in Bengal. The 132nd birthday ceremony was held on the second floor of the Collector's Club Hall at Berhampore.The day's programme began with two Rabindra Sangeet performances by veteran artists of the women-run "Badhutirtha" club in Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay's residence area at Berhampur town. Tapas Ghosh, a member of the organization, gave the opening speech on the occasion. Distant family members of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay living at Berhampur Town were present on this day. Senior family member Pratip Kumar Bandyopadhyay and younger member Shantanu Bandyopadhyay shed some light on Rakhaldas.They showed their gratitude to our organization for taking the initiative to celebrate the birthday. Also, Dr. Rajarshi Chakraborty, member of the organization and professor of history department of Burdwan University, gave a speech on the subject. Arindam Roy, a member of the organization, spoke about the entire initiative and next steps. The programme was conducted by Somnath Bhattacharya, a member of the organization.On behalf of the organization, basically three demands were officially presented from the programme of this day. 1) A bust of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay should be erected at Berhampur, his birthplace. 2) An important road or flyover at Berhampur Town should be named after him. 3) There should be a museum or gallery at Berhampur Town in the name of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay at Berhampur Town. At the end of the celebration, a framed photo of Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay was formally handed over to the family members present. In this way, the official birthday celebration of World Eminent Archaeologist Rakhaldas Bandyopadhyay for the first time under the initiative of our organization became a history.

Closing Ceremony of Year-long Festival Ccommemorating 250 years of Foundation of Baharampur City

Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra concluded the year-long celebration of 250 years of foundation of Baharampur city on 10th January 2016. Dr. Rajarshi Chakraborty, a member of the organization and currently a professor of the history department of Burdwan University, gave a speech on the topic at Baharampur Rabindra Sadan. Again the documentary film of initiation ceremony of this year-long celebration was shown.Now extending the time frame, 101 Famous person of this district who were born or died or resided in Baharampur city after 1765 and before 1947 are shown with their birth and death years.After that, the fifth published collection of research papers of scholars and researchers of Baharampur City, "Sahar Baharampur-er 250 Bochor : Utso Sandhan (250 Years of Baharampur City : Finding the Source) was officially released by Murshidabad District Secondary Education D.I Hon. Puravi Biswas Dey. In the last part of the programme, a total of 11 schools and colleges of Baharampur city presented their cultural programmes on the theme of history.

Commencement of a year-long celebration of 250th Anniversary of Foundation of Baharampur City

On 19 July 2015, the year-long celebration of the 250th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Baharampur was initiated by the organization. Vijay Kumar Bandopadhyay, senior historian of the district, inaugurated the festival at Rabindra Sadan in Baharampur. At first three ensemble songs were peeformed.In the first phase, the two senior history researchers of the district, Vijay Kumar Bandopadhyay, Dr. Bishan Kumar Gupta and the then Sidhu Kanu University's History professor Dr. Rajarshi Chakraborty, spoke. Ashish Kumar Mondal's fourth published research book 'Shashadhar Tarkachuramani: Life and Work' was officially released by Vijay Kumar Bandopadhyay.This was followed by a 22-minute historical documentary titled "250 Years of Baharampur City: Heritage Protection Pledge" presented by the organization at Rabindra Sadan Theatre. Some of the destroyed and at the edge of destruction history and heritage sites of the district were highlighted. Along with that documentary, about 70 deceased renowned 'Bhumi-Santan' (child of the soil) born from 1765 to before 1947 were shown with their birth and death years.Baharampur Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mr. Supriya Das and Hazarduari Museum's Superintending Archaeologist Nayananda Chakraborty spoke in the second part of the programme.

Shahbag Andolon o Murshidabad

On March 23, 2014, the organization's third book "Shahbag Andolan o Murshidabad" was released in a ceremony organized by the organization at Baharampur Grant Hall. Shri Vidyut Debnath officially released. The book has 325 pages in total. A total of 126 writers from around the world, including India and Bangladesh, published articles, poems, stories and paintings by painters in that book. Three ensemble songs were performed at the beginning of the programme. A total of six speakers spoke for a short time on the topic. At the end of the programme, all the writers and painters present on that day were given their courtesy copies by the organization. At the end, the ensemble's final music was played.

Publication of Book and Discussion

A competitive discussion was held on 19/05/2013 under the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra. The topic was "Vivekananda in my thinking". There were a total of 14 contestants from various schools and colleges. At the end awards were given to all of them by the organization.After that, a collection of essays on regional history written by Dr. Bishan Kumar Gupta published by the organization "Murshidabad Phire Dekha" was published. The Chief Guest, Hon'ble Swami Vishwamayananda Maharaj of Sargachi Ramakrishna Mussion presided over the programme.

Meeting on Shahbag Movement

On 16/03/2013, a meeting was held on the second floor of Rabindra Sadan, Baharampur, under the initiative of Murshidabad Zill Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra regarding Shahbag Movement. We all know that on February 5, 2013, a meeting was held at Shahbagh square in Bangladesh on the issue of the movement against fundamentalism in favour of Bengali nationalism. A direct and indirect link with Murshidabad is sought. The meeting of this day was held in the evening in the presence of many people with chat and discussion.

Participation in 32nd Murshidabad District Book Fair

In the first month of January Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra participated for the first time in the 32nd Murshidabad District Book Fair. In this book fair held at Baharampur Barrack Square, the organization's first published research essay collection called 'Murshidabad Anusandhan' was displayed. Along with this, books of various publications and writers on regional history are displayed in this stall. Every day writers, researchers and cultural workers from different parts of the district hold talks and discussions at this stall.

A One Day Workshop on Recitation

At the initiative of Murshidabad Zilla Itihas o Sanskriti Charcha Kendra a one-day workshop on recitation was held at Grant Hall, Baharampur. Internationally renowned recitalists Honorable Shree Partha Ghosh and Shrimati Gauri Ghosh were present to train in this workshop. Noted writer Shrimati Chitra Lahiri was also present. On this day, a total of 60 people from different parts of the district participated in this workshop. At the end of the workshop, the trainers of the day signed their certificates on behalf of the organization.

A New Beginning... A New Hope

A new hope arose in the hearts of history and heritage lovers to celebrate our rich history and heritage with immense pride, joy and dedication. It is just a beginning of a prosperous journey which is getting bigger and better by each passing year. Murshidabad Zilla Itihas O Sanskriti Charcha Kendra— an organisation of its own kind. Many renouned scholars came to give the Murshidabad Zilla Itihas O Sanskriti Charcha Kendra their precious blessings including Shri Jiban Mukhopadhyay, a well-known scholar and celebrated author of History text books studied in Bengal as the chief guest. A book, Murshidabad Anusandhan, was published on that day which contained essays on various aspect of our local history by researchers and scholars. Apart from the publication we felicitate some renouned scholars and researchers who continuingly dedicated their time, heart and soul to search the long-buried unknown or very less known aspects of our district's rich history and heritage. A documentary was also shown with the message of preserving the signs of our history and heritage and photos of near about 100 'Bhumi - Santan' (child of the soil) of our district with their respective birth and death (if applicable) year. The people presented in that Rabindra Sadan auditorium stood on their feet and applauded the documentation and expressed their wish to be with us in every possible way to preserve our history and heritage. It was the first footstep that started this long journey.
